I normally purchase these direct from Dell, but bought a few from Amazon for a quick need at work.Coming from a place where i’m used to high end workstations or custom built systems, i’ve been pretty impressed with these 8700’s so far.With 50+ systems deployed, we haven’t had any issues with the hardware at all, and they work great as workstations for our developers.One of the best CPU’s on the market, plenty of RAM, and a decent amount of bays to add in an SSD.

The only negative is that the power supply appears to be rated at 460 watts, and the amount of space for a 3rd party video card is limited.We’re able to crap a PNY GTX 660 in there with some effort, but I can’t imagine anything longer then that will fit in the case.That knocks off a star for upgradability, but everything else has been solid after about 4 months of use so far.

The many USB ports on the computer make it very convenient since I can charge my various electronics while I am on the computer. Ipad, phone, ect.What really surprised me was how quiet it is. I recently ordered another 16gb of ram to add which should boost performance as well. However I think as it is, it is a very good deal at a fair price. If I had to do it all over again, I wouldn’t change a thing.

Within 24 hours of receiving the computer, I had problems with it. I contacted the seller (J-Tech Digital, Inc), Smart Guard (I bought a 3 year protection plan on the computer), and the manufacture (Dell) to try and get the issue resolved. Smart Guard couldn’t do anything because it hadn’t been 30 days yet. The seller J-Tech Digital, Inc told me to contact the manufacture, whom I had already called before J-Tech had even responded to me. Dell tried to help me, but did not succeed. I emailed the seller and told them that the issue was not resolved and that I would like the computer replaced, because it states all over Amazon that you can return for a refund, or have the item replaced as long as it’s within the first 30 days of receiving the item. J-Tech Digital ignored my request for a replacement.

I am not happy at all with the services I have received from the seller. The company that I bought the protection plan from did more for me than J-Tech Digital did.

I want my computer replaced, or my money back!

Great Computer, but even with 8 GBs of Ram, Computer has moments where it thinks, and moments where Windows has hiccups. I had heard Windows 8 had fast bootups it boots a lot slower than Windows 7. The first step was to uninstall 50 cellphone related apps on my mini-tower. Gee if Microsoft wants to design one operating system for both worlds, A computer operating system that could be used on a cell phone is a better concept than their reverse concept. Software on computers is SOFTWARE NOT APPS, whenever I click on a file it constantly tells me like a baby that I have other apps that can run it. Sorry Microsoft after 19 years of computers I go to certain familiar programs to get tasks done, not a new so called App. I wish Microsoft never would have released their new failure “WINDOWS 8” I DO NOT RECOMMEND WINDOWS 8!!!!!!!!;!
